Tips to choosing the right size bra:-
At Violette Lingerie we know the importance of a well fitting bra. It can totally transform your shape, elongate a short torso by lifting the breasts, create voluptous curves and provide the perfect foundations from which to work.
If possible, we would always encourage a visit to our boutique for a personal fitting and lingerie styling, however to assist our internet customers, we have assembled the following guide to fitting yourself:-
Firstly, there is no exact science to fitting a bra, as each bra fits differently.
The main support comes from the back strap and the side of the bra; therefore it’s important that the bra should be firm and comfortable. When turned sideways to a mirror, the strap should be horizontal and not ride up at the back.
The wires should sit comfortably under the bust and lie flat against the rib cage, not raised in the centre (this indicates the cup size is too small).
Remember to adjust the shoulder straps; they should rest gently on the shoulders, they should not provide the support for the cups.
Both breasts should be fully enclosed by the cups of the bra, no bulging at the sides or at the top of the cups; merely a smooth line (even when wearing a balconette or plunge-style bra).
At Violette we are industry trained to “fit by eye” to see the shape a bra gives you, and we are always happy to help with any questions you may have. You can contact us on +44 (0)1642 791220 with any questions or arrange a personal fitting or e-mail us at: email@example.com
